 Cherry

If the legend holds true, George Washington was a visionary when he chopped down the cherry tree. Cherry has since grown to be one of the most popular of hardwoods. Because of its strength and stability, cherry is often used for burial caskets, paneling and gun stocks. Its rich, warm look and creamy, reddish color make it a favorite. Many Batesville hardwoods have a MemorySafe™ drawer and may be personalized by adding custom corners and personalized panels.  Batesville’s hardwood caskets come in a variety of styles and are all backed by our comprehensive pre-interment warranty.

 Oak

Oak is a popular furniture and flooring favorite. This durable wood is used for doors, paneling, home furnishings and caskets. Many Batesville hardwoods have a MemorySafe™ drawer and may be personalized by adding custom corners and personalized panels.  Batesville’s hardwood caskets come in a variety of styles and are all backed by our comprehensive pre-interment warranty.

 Maple

Maple is valued for its strength, wear resistance and beauty, making it a popular choice for flooring, especially for heavily trafficked areas such as a ballroom. But it’s also a popular material used in making caskets. Maple is evenly textured with a natural luster. While the grain is usually straight, it can also be wavy or curly.  Many Batesville hardwoods have a MemorySafe™ drawer and may be personalized by adding custom corners and personalized panels.  Batesville’s hardwood caskets come in a variety of styles and are all backed by our comprehensive pre-interment warranty.

 Pecan

Prized for the delicious pecan nut, pecan trees also produce a strong and heavy hardwood. Pecan is light in color and is often found in the construction of beautiful furniture and architectural paneling.  Many Batesville hardwoods have a MemorySafe™ drawer and may be personalized by adding custom corners and personalized panels.  Batesville’s hardwood caskets come in a variety of styles and are all backed by our comprehensive pre-interment warranty.

Pine

Pine has been popular since colonial times. There are nearly 100 species of pine, ranging in color from pale yellow to light brown. Though not technically classified as a “hardwood,” it is considered to be a durable wood, usually straight grained with an even texture. Many Batesville hardwoods have a MemorySafe™ drawer and may be personalized by adding custom corners and personalized panels.  Batesville’s hardwood caskets come in a variety of styles and are all backed by our comprehensive pre-interment warranty.

 Engineered Wood
Engineered Wood combines advanced technology, strength and beauty into one complete package. As an investment in tomorrow, engineered wood ensures the long-term affordability of quality wood caskets and creates a stronger, more affordable, more eco-friendly product. Backed by consumer research, engineered wood features visual, structural and environmental benefits that consumers value.

 Hardwood

The hardwood line of caskets is available in a variety of wood species including, mahogany, walnut, cherry, maple, oak, and poplar. These woods are all classified as hardwood because they are leaf bearing trees. The pine is actually softwood because it is a needle bearing tree, but it is included in the general category of hardwood.

The hardwood casket is constructed using between 150 and 225 board feet of solid lumber and offers strength, beauty, and dignity, and is available to our families in many styles.

Hardwood is a cost effective, yet attractive, solid wood product made from select wood species including poplar.  Many Batesville hardwoods have a MemorySafe™ drawer and may be personalized by adding custom corners and personalized panels.  Batesville’s hardwood caskets come in a variety of styles and are all backed by our comprehensive pre-interment warranty.
