Frances Lee Powell

Frances Lee Powell 86, of Crosby, Texas went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2017.  Frances was born on May 25, 1931 in Fort Worth, Texas to Jess Mitchell and Velma Margaret (Rubush) Tutor.  Frances worked as a secretary for Houston ISD for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Crosby, Texas. In her free time Frances enjoyed painting, gaming and spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren). Frances loved the Lord and taught Sunday school and was very active in her church First Baptist Church in Crosby.  Frances was a very vivacious, outgoing, kind and caring, woman who always had a smile on her face and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Velma Tutor; loving husband, John Milton Powell and brother, Mitchell “Sonny” Tutor. She is survived by her son, Bob Powell and wife Linda of Crosby, TX; daughter, Debbie Powell of Crosby, TX; sister, Betty Brock of Houston, TX; sister, Mitzi Hester of Houston, TX; grandson, Jeremy Bell and wife Haley of Humble, TX; grandson, Jeffrey Bell; granddaughter, Christi Vaughan and husband Josh; grandson, Jonathan Powell and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Amy, Lily, Zakary, Caleb, Luke, Annagrace, Georgia and Milam and many other relatives and friends.  A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 5pm-8pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 11am at Sterling-White Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sterling-White Cemetery.  Services have been entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd.
