Jo Ann Smith

Jo Ann Smith age, 70 went to be with the Lord on Thursday May 4, 2017. She was born in Waco Texas on April 21, 1947 to Helen Mae Potter Fagnana and Angelo Joseph Fagnana. Jo Ann was an outstanding registered nurse, wonderful wife, loving mother, amazing nana, kind sister, encouraging aunt and die hard Rockets fan. She will be missed by so many. We will remember her strong character, take charge personality, and unwavering selfless heart. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Thomas Joseph Smith. She is survived by her husband,Thomas Kirby Smith; her daughter, Harriet Kristine Johnston (and husband, Jerry Jr.); her brother, Robert Joseph Fagnana; her sister, Mary Fagnana Halstead (and husband, Jimmie); her grandchildren, James Bryan Smith, Colton Lutteral Bone, Alyssa and Melinda Johnston. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to offer a special “thank you” to Jo Ann’s niece, Angela Fagnana Mulla for all her love and caring attention.

 A visitation for family and friends will be held  at Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, on Monday May 8, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., followed by services in Sterling White Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
