John David Gross

John David Gross, 72, gained his wings on Sunday, November 26, 2017. He was born on June 9, 1945 in Baytown, Texas to John E. Gross and Dorothy Edwards Gross. He retired from Exxon Mobil after working 34 years as a Machinist Technician. John was married 52 years to the love of his life, Sandra, that he adored and cared for very much. Some of his hobbies included woodworking, fishing, hunting, carpentry, and watching football and baseball. John was a loyal and dependable man who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Dorothy Gross; grandparents, Arthur and Bernice Edwards, and John and Dovie Gross; aunt, Nancy Edwards; and uncle, Marvin Edwards.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Gross; son, Craig Gross and wife Cindy; daughter, Robin Gross; grandsons, Addison Gross and fiancé Jasmine Caldwell, and Kristan Sims; sister, Barbara Harrison; brother, Steve Gross and wife Tammy; and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Family Church of Houston, 14718 Woodford Dr, Houston, TX 77015. Interment will follow in Sterling-White Cemetery.
