Juanita Arlene Hyman

November 5, 1932 ~ June 8, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Juanita Arlene Hyman of Baytown, Texas went home to be with her Lord on June 8, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones at home. Juanita was born in Billings, Montana on November 5, 1932 to her parents who are now deceased, John M. and Celia Dodge. After leaving home, Juanita spent 3 years at International Bible College in San Antonio, Texas, where she met her husband Delmer Hyman. They were married in July 1954 and together they had 5 children. Juanita and Delmer began pastoral ministry and spent 3 years as missionaries in Nigeria, Africa and later pastored at churches. For the past 11 years spent in Baytown, Texas, Juanita’s heart and soul was loving her Lord Jesus and her family. She left a legacy for her family of a passion for missions and reaching as many as she could with the good news of the Gospel. She loved playing the piano and accordion, singing, and taking care of her family. Juanita will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Jacob Dodge and David Dodge.

Juanita is survived by her beloved husband, Delmer Leon Hyman; son, Nathan Hyman and wife Patsy; daughters, Gloria and husband John Cathcart, Noel and husband Steve Shives, Anna Joy Hyman, Koni and husband Eugene Starcke; brothers, Dan Dodge, Paul Dodge, Sam Dodge, Amos Dodge and Tim Dodge; sisters, Naomi Grove, Faith Bolton and Mary Faulkner; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friend.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Sterling White Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Family Church, 14718 Woodford Drive, Houston, TX 77015.  Interment will follow in Sterling-White Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, Texas. To share memories and offer condolences please visit www.sterlingwhite.com.
