My family lived on Orleans down the street from the Pitman family. I knew Lanie as a child growing up as she was the niece of Curly Middleton and and I was the great niece of Edith Middlton. Our children went to school at Cimarron Elementary and we were room mothers, talked about ceramics and visited waiting for the bell to ring to get the kids. My daughter Melissa and son Kevin Bowdoin were the same age as Michael and Kim. What I remember the most about Lanie was her kind sweet nature and love for her children. We laughed and cried saying we could not believe how fast they were growning up. We live in Nacogdoches now and my mom read about Lanie in the paper. Please know that my prayers are with your family and also know how precious your sweet wife and mom were to me. Sincerely, Ruth Bowdoin
