Mary Louise (McDowell) Johnston

Mary Louise (McDowell) Johnston was born to Alla Mae and Harry Albert McDowell, II on August 19, 1951, in Hobbs, New Mexico, and peacefully passed away on March 21, 2024, in Baytown, Texas.

Mary was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmotherand great grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family. She was a huge Tennessee Titans fan and loved watching them play. In her spare time, she loved canning fruits and vegetables to share with everyone. She always loved her getaways to the country with her husband, Sam, where they enjoyed many activities such as fishing, hunting, and relaxing by the fire.

Mary is preceded in death by her father, Harry Albert McDowell, II. She leaves behind her loving husband of 30 years, Sam Johnston, and is survived by her son, Steve McDowell, her daughters, Erika Prigmore, Heather Simpson, Kristin and Les Jones, her stepsons, Ryan Johnston, Josh and Cinthia Johnston, her stepdaughter, Brandi Johnston, her 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her sisters, Ellen McClanahan, Leyla Rodriguez, Linda and Brian Eschberger, her brothers, Harry Albert McDowell, III and Norma, William McDowell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary Johnston can be made to the American Cancer Society.
