Michaela Rae Ford

July 22, 1993 ~ February 11, 2017 (age 23) 23 Years Old

Michaela Rae Ford, 23, of Highlands died unexpectedly on February 11, 2017.  Our angel Michaela was called to the Lord after a much too short but love filled life.  Michaela was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on July 22, 1993, the daughter of Dalton Ray Ford and Michele Maghrak-Ford of Highlands.  She was the older sister and best friend of Denton Ford, who was only 18 months younger than she was.  Michaela was raised in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, where she attended Saints Simon and Jude Church and Christ the Divine Teacher School, Greensburg Central Catholic High School, and Blairsville Senior High School.  Along with her family, she left her many loving relatives and friends behind to move to Texas when she was 17 years old.  She graduated from Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School in Beaumont, Texas in 2011.  She attended other colleges before finding her true niche:  the University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management.  She graduated from college last May with a Bachelor of Science degree. She worked in the hospitality industry, most recently as a server and trainer at Saltgrass Steak House in Baytown.  Michaela loved life, her family and friends, the University of Houston, and Pittsburgh sport teams, especially the Steelers.  She was a talented artist.  Everyone who met Michaela fell in love with her.  All her life she was known for her beauty, inside and out.  She had a beautiful smile and lit up every room she entered.  She is survived by her parents, brother, grandmother Johnnie Mae Ford, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her special dog Bettis.  Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday February 17, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Catholic Charismatic Center, 1949 Cullen Boulevard, Houston, TX  77023, where Michaela was a member. Please meet at the Church.      A Luncheon will be held following the Mass at the San Jacinto/Highlands Community Center, 604 Highland Woods Drive, Highlands, TX.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Catholic Charismatic Center or St. Emma Monastery, 1001 Harvey Avenue, Greensburg, PA 15601.
