Pedro “Pete” Saenz, Jr. was born to Pedro S. Saenz and Antonia R. Saenz on August 11, 1947, in Kingsville, Texas, and peacefully passed away while surrounded by his loving family on March 24, 2024, in Houston, Texas.
Pete, a member of the Highlands community, was a pillar of strength, endless laughter, a beacon of love, and a true hero as he served his country during the Vietnam War.
Pete was a devoted father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He cherished spending time with his beloved family. Pete was a simple man who loved long talks with his children, traveling with his wife, collecting small model cars and ships, and worshiping the Lord.
Notably, he achieved a remarkable feat by visiting every major city in the U.S. over his 41-year career as an operator of an 18-wheeler tanker truck.
Pete is preceded in death by his father, Pedro S. Saenz, his mother Antonia R. Saenz, and sister Estella Garza. He leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Sandra Saenz, and is survived by his daughters, Christina Solis (Hilario Solis Jr.) Erica Guerrero (Ernest Guerrero Sr.) Elizabeth Lopez (David Lopez), his sons Mark Saenz (Yolanda Saenz) and Joshua Saenz (Sarah Saenz), his 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his sisters Alicia Cavazos (Pete Cavazos), Lucy Saenz Alvarado and his twin brother Joseph R. Saenz and numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
