Wilbert Leon Kainer

Wilbert L. Kainer, 72, of Crosby, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017.  He was born on February 26, 1945 in Schulenburg, Texas, the youngest child of Alfred Kainer and Hulda Heinrich Kainer.  He was a dedicated father and husband.  He was never afraid of hard work, and loved everyone around him.  Though he spoke few words they were always filled with the truth.  Wilbert was retired from the international export packing and freight industry.  His career started with building shipping crates, and he eventually moved his way up through management and IT as a Senior Technical Business Analyst at Agility Logistics.  Golfing was his passion.  He also enjoyed working with computers, hunting in his earlier days, and going to the gun range.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Newport Golf Association at Stone Bridge Country Club.   

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Hulda Kainer; grandparents, Emil and Agnes Wick Heinrich, John and Mary Beck Kainer; and two infant brothers, Michael and Alfred Kainer, Jr.

Wilbert is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carolyn Faulk Kainer; daughter, Marilee Kainer Bazan; son, Glen Travis Kainer; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Holes Kainer; son-in-law, Edward M. Bazan; grandson, Christian Benedict Kainer; brothers, Lawrence Kainer and Thomas Kainer; sisters, Marilyn Adamcik, Mildred Bayer, and Estella Kobza; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 915 Runneburg Rd., Crosby, TX 77532.  Interment followed at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, Texas.  To share memories and offer condolences please visit www.sterlingwhite.com.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memoriam to the American Heart Association or the Epilepsy Foundation Texas.
