Allen Curtis Meek

Allen Curtis Meek, 79, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. He was born June 30, 1942 in Brodhead, Wisconsin to parents John and Elsie Meek who preceded him in death along with his sisters Jeanette Riese and Dorothy Meek.

Al was large in personality and very opinionated. He started his career in the oilfield industry in Montana.  Shortly thereafter he was drafted and proudly served in the Army in the Vietnam War.  Upon returning to Montana he met and married his children’s mother Wendy.  Together they had three girls, Kathy, Toni, and Barbara. The family later moved to Texas where he continued his career in the oilfield industry until he retired in 2012. Some of his passions in life included fishing in Alaska and Canada, telling jokes, watching old westerns, and sports.     

Al leaves behind to cherish his daughters Kathy Meek, Toni Collett and husband Joe, and Barbara Jones.  Grandchildren Craig and girlfriend Rebekah, Nick and girlfriend Lexie, Natalie, Kaitlyn, Joseph, and Laurynn as well as great-grandchildren Patrick and Ja’Von.   He also leaves numerous relatives and friends near and far, and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.  

A memorial service for Al will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Sterling-White Funeral Home, Highlands, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Operation Finally Home.
