Barbara Huval-Olbrych passed away peacefully on March 17, 2019 at the age of 63. She was born on April 12, 1955 in Bayou Vista, Louisiana to Dalphey and Vesta Arnaud. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother or better known as “mawmaw” by her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was a homemaker and from time to time she held positions in the hospitality industry where she displayed a wonderful knack for solving problems and assisting customers. Barbara was very caring and willing to give the shirt off her back or lend in any manner that she could if she had it. She was a fighter and fought the good fight until the end. Barbara was simple and lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: Chatting with friends and family, cooking and baking, collecting recipes, playing games on her iPad or loving on and playing with her dogs. Barbara will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dalphey & Vesta Arnaud, brothers Harry Robin, Mervin Robin, D.J. Arnaud, and sister Loretta Robin.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 28 years Charles Olbrych, daughters Shonda Cortez, Connie Cunningham, Danielle Stevens, sons Danny Stevens Jr., Galen Stevens, grandchildren Dustin Bierwirth, Seth Cortez, Brayden Miller, Tyler Tracey, Brianna Thaxton, Jayton Stevens, Dylan Stevens, Jolie Stevens, Brantley Stevens and Brian Stevens. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 am at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Sterling-White Cemetery.
