Barbara M. Foote

Barbara “Bobbie” Foote, 89, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2019. She was born on March 24, 1929 to Dee Mack Perkins and Lessie B. Ryland Perkins. Barbara was one of nine children. She met the love of her life, John, while working at the Houston Chronicle, he was a salesman and she was a secretary. They married on December 21st, 1951 and together they had two children. She was very proud to be the spouse of a Navy veteran. Barbara worked as a legal secretary for Shell Oil Company for over 18 years. Barbara was a very devoted Christian. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, often-times you would find Barbara pulling weeds or tending to her flowers. She was known to have generations of squirrels come to visit and she would feed them by hand. Her family was her everything, and they think of her as an angel. She was a wonderful grandmother and would do anything she could to take care of her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Foote, her brother Fred Perkins, and her sisters Bea Dennis and Lea Mabry.

She is survived by her daughters Sandy Foote Aronds and Debbie Foote Searl, her brothers Alvin Perkins, Dee Perkins and Dale Perkins, her sisters Velma Slayter and Cherry Richardson, her grandchildren Max Aronds, Alex Aronds, Jeremy Searl, Jason Searl, Heather Bennett and Johnathan Bennett. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. in Highlands, on Thursday evening February 21, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Sterling-White Funeral Home on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
