Beatrice Dannette (Baker) Ward, 59, of Baytown, Texas, passed from this life to be with our Heavenly Father on August 28, 2020. She was born September 28, 1960, to Granville D. “Danny” Baker and Leah Janette Baker Andrews. She grew up in Baytown and graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1979. “Bea” married her high school sweetheart, Waylon “Craig” Ward on May 23, 1981.
She was a warm, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many who knew her. Bea and Craig were blessed with four children, which were Bea’s pride and joy in life. Bea also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, hunting and fishing with Craig, as well as Garner trips with family and friends. Memories of camping, swimming, family gatherings, and playing games together will forever be cherished. In her professional life, Bea was a hard-working and dedicated Admissions Clerk for the Lee College Nursing Department. Later, some of her favorite time was spent as “Grammy” attending the grandkids school functions and sporting events. She was their number 1 fan! Grammy, with her beautiful smile, big hugs, and infectious giggle, will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beatrice leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her husband of 39 years, Waylon “Craig” Ward, and mother Leah Janette Baker Andrews. Her children Candice & Jason McKee, Leslie & Stephen Hemmenway, Waylon “Jarrid” & Rachel Ward, and Lori & Trey Turbeville. Ten grandchildren including Gavin, Gage, & Charlsie Mckee, Tensile & Tysen Hemmenway, Emma, Ava & Jack Ward, and Treyson & Payton Turbeville. Sisters Dana Baker and Evah Leigh Primeaux with husband Ricky. Sister-in-law Cheryl Hollister with husband Roger. Nephew Alexander Primeaux with wife Nicole, nephew Jamie Hollister and wife Monika, niece Rachelle Cyrier with husband John. Great niece Nora Primeaux, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Bea was preceded in death by her father, Granville D. Baker, Stepfather Albert Ivan Andrews, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Wayne and Erma Ward, Stepmother-in-law Mattie Ward and nephew, David Baker.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Charles Jason McKee, Gavin McKee, Gage McKee,Stephen Hemmenwy, Waylon Jarrid Ward, Trey Turbeville, Hunter Gerza and Alexander Primeaux.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in the chapel of Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, Texas, 77562. A funeral service for Mrs. Ward will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 10:00a.m. in the chapel with her nephew Alexander Primeaux officiating. A burial will immediately follow.
