Betty Fudge

Betty Fudge Colvin, age 77, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 12, 2022 at 1:06 PM. She was surrounded by her sons, daughters, and sister at her home in Baytown, Texas.

Betty was born to parents Floy Lee Fudge and Louise Taylor Fudge on May 13, 1945 in Lakeland, Florida. As a young adult, Betty moved to Houston and later Highlands with her husband Joe Colvin where they raised a family that included six beautiful children who loved her unconditionally.

She enjoyed good Mexican food, company, and conversation in her living room. Card games, Farkle and Yahtzee at the dining room table in her home. Betty loved to travel and see new places. She traversed the country making memories with her sons, daughters and their families and frequently visited her family in Florida. She cherished her trips to visit loved ones in the Sunshine State and would always bring back stories of fishing trips on the lake and anecdotes about her brothers. Betty was proud to be an American and never missed an opportunity to exercise her civic duty on election day.

Betty’s legacy will forever be marked by her steadfast devotion to her family and friends who she loved and cherished very much. Betty truly poured her heart and soul into her family throughout her 77 years on Earth and is now peacefully rejoicing in Heaven with our Lord.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Floy Lee Fudge and Louise Taylor Fudge Jones, son James Guilford Lowell “Jimmy” Colvin and grandson Aaron Lee Colvin and many loving brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.

She is survived by daughter Marie Keramati and husband Azim of The Woodlands, Texas, son Joe Colvin and partner Daniel Hastings of Austin, Texas, son Travis Colvin and wife Kelly of Crosby, Texas, daughter Lollie Houchins and husband Mike of Baytown, Texas, and son Clint Colvin and wife Lyndsy of Baytown, Texas, granddaughter Layla Keramati of Houston, Texas, granddaughter Kristina Gurka and husband Michael of Spring, Texas, grandson Cameron Keramati and wife Mariana of Greenville, South Carolina, grandson Travis James Colvin and wife Shelby of Port Arthur, Texas, grandson Trevor Colvin of Baytown, Texas, grandson Trent Colvin of League City, Texas, grandson Zach Houchins and wife Catherine of Houston, Texas, grandson Keenan Houchins of Baytown, Texas, granddaughter Lauren Colvin of Baytown, Texas, and granddaughter Raelyn Colvin of Baytown, Texas. In addition to her grandchildren, Betty is survived by four sweet great-grandchildren: Cadmon and Caden Colvin of Port Arthur, Texas and Landon and Presley Gurka of Spring, Texas. Also, her sister Kaye Jones of Baytown, Texas, brother Charlie Fudge and wife Diane of Homosassa, Florida, brother Roy Fudge and wife Barbara of Auburndale, Florida,

True to her commitment to family, Betty would have wanted all grandchildren and great-grandchildren recognized in any tribute to her – a testament to the unwavering love and joy she found in her family. Nanny’s laugh, warm presence and home cooking will be especially missed at Thanksgiving and Sundays by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Serving the family as pallbearers are her six loving grandsons: Travis James Colvin, Trevor Colvin, Zach Houchins, Cameron Keramati, Trent Colvin and Keenan Houchins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM with services beginning at 11:00 AM at Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Road, Highlands, Texas 77562 with interment to follow in Sterling White Cemetery.
