Cara Lynn Dubcak was born March 4, 1971 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown to Billy and Barbara Dubcak.
Cara studied interior design and photography at San Jacinto Community College. She was passionate about photography and worked as a wedding and portrait photographer throughout the Houston area. Cara was a pop culture aficionado, carefully researching collectibles and their design and history. She was a natural at the ukulele, and she would play it all the time, picking up songs and entertaining family at every gathering with her music: she especially loved regaling friends with the Happy Birthday Song.
She was a kind and compassionate spirit, had a fantastic sense of humor, a fascination for nature and especially animals, a smile that would light up any room. She was devoted to the house of wayward souls that she and Jenny collected during their 20 years together, especially Bennie, Lance, Eli, and Lucy.
She loved deeply.
Cara passed away on March 2, 2020 after an extended illness. She is survived by her partner Jenny Conte; mother Barbara Dubcak; sister Lisa Dreska, brother-in-law Chris, and niece Dani; brother Randy Dubcak, sister-in-law Deanna, and their children, Olivia, Wyatt, and Audrey. She is preceded in death by her father.
