Tribute

Caryn Renee Legros, 76, of Highlands, Texas, slipped away into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, with her loving family by her side, in Houston, Texas. She was born on August 15, 1944, to the late Jaquelyn Jondohl and Hilary Grabanski in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She graduated from Grand Forks High School in 1962. In 1970 Caryn married the love of her life David Lee Legros where they spent the next 50 years raising their family. Caryn was a faithful member of Saint Jude’s Thaddeus Catholic Church in Highlands, Texas. As a member there, she enjoyed being a part of the choir.

Caryn was a person who pursued many interests, some of which were going to church, going to garage sales, gambling, doing scratch offs and playing the lottery, loving on her dogs, and going grocery shopping daily. She had a passion for cooking and was amazing at it. Caryn’s biggest joy in life was spending time with her sons and grandchildren. She was big hearted, if someone needed something she did not hesitate to give it. Caryn would give the shirt off her back if that were what it took. Although she was a saint, she was also tough. Caryn was truly an angel and had a lot of love to give. She was also a strong hard worker who was loyal to her family. Caryn was a great mother to her boys and a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren. She was known as a person who was never quick to anger.

Caryn was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, her son Jeremy Legros and her beloved dog Baby Doll. Caryn leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her sons Chad Legros and wife Arlissa of League City, Justin Legros and wife Caryn of Highlands; her grandchildren Andrea Legros of Denver, Colorado, Cayla Legros of Highlands, Texas, Shelbie Millsaps of College Station, Texas; her siblings Terry Lee Grabanski and wife Kathy of California, Craig Grabanski of North Dakota, Paula Grabanski, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:30 am until 11:00 am in the chapel of Sterling ~ White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, Texas 77562. A memorial service for Mrs. Legros will immediately follow.
