Cecil “Peanut” Guinn Newman, 84, of Crosby, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He was born on April 19, 1937 in Pert, Texas to parents Jimmy Reynolds Newman and Nancy Elizabeth Hopper Newman who preceded him in death along with his brothers James Newman, Lester Newman, David Newman, and Billy Newman.
Peanut is remembered for being a loving and caring man. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Peanut leaves behind to cherish his memory his memory his children Bobby Newman, Perry Newman and wife Juanita, Donna Craft and husband David; grandchildren David Clyde Craft and wife Jennifer, Andrew Blain Craft, and Megan Newman; great-grandson Jonas Roberts; sisters Ruth Meyka and husband Tommy, Faye Hall and husband Jimmy; brother Raymond Newman, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Omnix Home Health Care and Omnix Hospice, Mandy, Sabrina, and Carol for all of the help, care and compassion given to Peanut and the family. Mrs. Craft would also like to extend a thank you to her husband David and sons Clyde and Blain for their love and support; as well as Laura Howell and Rose Newman for being there for her and supporting her through this difficult time.
A graveside service for Peanut will be held 9:00 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Sterling-White Cemetery, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, Texas 77562.
