Charles Victor Goodgion was born on March 23, 1926 in Mertens, Texas. He graduated from Addicks High School in 1944 where he played basketball and was part of a State High School Championship. He was then called to the military and served in the Marine Corp in WWII. He was always proud of serving our country. He was a member of VFW 912 in Baytown, Texas for many years. Charles retired from Exxon after 25 years of service. He trained racehorses for many years and that was his passion. Charles will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Frances E. Goodgion; father, Charles Victor Goodgion; mother, Faye Hyer King; and step-father, Carl R. King.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Charlene Goodgion Pierce and her husband Randy who has been by his side for the last ten years; grandchildren, Lance Victor Jackson and wife Julie Meranda Jackson, Ashley Guest Armstrong and husband Wade Armstrong, John Harper, and Jennie Harper; step-son, Richard E. Harper and wife Debra Harper; great grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Jackson and Cash Andrew Jackson; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
