Connie Sue Powell

Connie Neathery Powell, 60, of Baytown, Texas gained her heavenly wings in the early morning hours of June 4 2022 with her family by her side.

Born January 12, 1962 in Baytown, Texas to Archie Thomas and Barbara Chisholm Neathery.

Connie was a devoted wife, mother, Meme, daughter, sister and friend.  Though she enjoyed everything life had to offer, hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time with family and friends, especially celebrating the 4th of July every year by hosting an annual horseshoe and washer tournament, her grandchildren were her absolute joy. 

Connie is preceded in death by her father, Archie Thomas Neathery, grandparents Virgil and Omie Dixon Neathery and Alton and Ella Mae Underwood Chisholm.

She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years Ed Powell, daughter, Kera Jennings and husband Gary, daughter Keli Clement.  Mother Barbara Neathery, Grandchildren Kade LaGrone, Kyle LaGrone, Kenli LaGrone, Kendal Jennings and Kaylor Jennings.  Sister Pat Clement and husband Bobby, Brothers Mac Neathery and wife Liane, Tracy Neathery and wife Staci.  Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Services are in care of Sterling White Funeral Home & Cemetery, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Road, Highlands,Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. with chapel services officiated by Wesley Freeman at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Sterling White Cemetery.

Serving the family as Pallbearers will be Christopher Clement, Cory Neathery, Colton Neathery, Cameron Neathery, Ash “Taz” Tallant, Damon Orrill and Charles “Shorty” Green.  Honorary pallbearers will be Lane Darlington, Beau Clement and Tucker Wilburn.
