Daniel James Rouse

Daniel James Rouse Sr. 86, of Highlands, Texas went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2018.  Daniel was born on February 14, 1932 in Rio Hondo, Texas to Benjamin and Mavis Rouse.  Daniel served his country and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy and then worked as a Superintendent in the Construction Industry until retirement.  Some of Daniels hobbies were woodworking, hunting, fishing, bee keeping, planting trees and flowers, trapping and most of spending time with his family and friends.  Daniel was a very quiet, hardworking, generous and kind man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mavis Pauline Chase Rouse and Benjamin James Rouse; his daughter, Evonne Rouse Foster; and his sisters, Paula Simmons, Freida Rode, and Benita Smith.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Lucy Rouse; his children, Bo Rouse (and wife, Cheri), Loretta Gregerson (and husband, Dana), Janie Brown (and husband, Johnny), and Chance “Bubba” Rouse; and his sister, Vickie Rouse. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday evening, May 9, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sterling White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, Texas.  Services will be held on Thursday morning May 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Sterling White Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
