June 23, 1938 ~ July 16, 2021 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Tribute

Darlene Cole Hart, 83, of Baytown, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021. It was in that beautiful moment that she entered the gates of her Heavenly home, was enveloped in the arms of Jesus, and her body was made whole and healthy again. She was reunited with her husband, parents, siblings, and other family members that have gone before her. There is no doubt that the Lord welcomed her by saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

Darlene was born on June 23, 1938, in Baytown, Texas to Leland and Mabel Cole. She was a lifelong Baytonian and attended Lee High School followed by Lee College where she met her husband, Charles, in choir. After marrying Charles on September 10, 1961, she spent the rest of her life devoted to her husband and children, providing a happy and loving home.

Throughout Darlene’s life, she participated in many things. She was an avid dancer for twenty years and went on to be a dance instructor. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Baytown, now Rollingbrook Fellowship. She loved her church home and Sunday school class and volunteered in many capacities throughout the years. She taught Sunday school, Bible school, and Girls in Action. These were her favorites because she loved children of all ages and walks of life. She loved to shop, decorate, travel, southern gospel music and hymns, Bucees, and spending time with her family. She was a loving and generous woman who was most happy when she was helping or giving to others. She was caring, silly and sassy, selfless, Godly, and she loved her family with everything in her; they were everything to her and she was everything to them. She will be remembered by her family and friends as someone who loved unconditionally and with everything she had. Her desire would be to carry on her legacy by loving and serving the Lord, and to love others unconditionally.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hart; parents, Leland and Mabel Cole; brothers, Leland and Wayne Cole, infant brothers Robert and John Cole, and other special family members.

Darlene is survived by son, Bruce Hart and wife, Melissa; daughter, Susan Osgood; daughter, Mandi Whitaker and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Brian Hart, Nikki Hart, and Doyle Hingle, Zach and Chelsea Leiser, Alyssa and Shane Kenney, Katie Osgood, Braden and Brooke Whitaker, and Karli Whitaker.
