"Donna Sue Sites, 78, of Crosby, Texas, passed away peacefully, on Monday, December 28, 2020, at her home. She was born on March 10, 1942, in Salina, KS, to the late Kenneth and Inez May (Rice) Darnell. Donna grew up in Salina, KS.  She graduated from Salina High School Central, in Salina, KS, in 1960. After high school, she moved down to Pasadena, TX, where she performed several jobs such as a server and bartender at a high-end steakhouse.  After marriage, she devoted her life to raising her eight children.

Donna married Norlan Gene Sites in 1969, in Pasadena, TX. They were happily married for 48 years. Donna was a member of First Baptist Church in Crosby, TX. She enjoyed nature, gardening, was an avid reader (especially the works of Stephen King), watching the Astros either in person or on TV, and spending loads of time with her sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.  She was also an amazing cook and enjoyed preparing huge meals for gatherings of family and friends.

Donna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Inez May; her husband Norlan Gene; her sisters Marilyn Dodge and Virginia Suelter; brothers Robert, Marvin, James, and Jerry Darnell; her daughters Sherri Scotti and Stephanie Krieger, and her grandchildren Derek Blackard and Jordan Scotti. Donna was survived by her children Christine (Richnow) Darnell of League City, TX, Sandra Sites of Crosby, TX, Suzanne (McDaniel) Sites of Deer Park, TX, Craig Sites of Friendswood, TX, and Shawn Sites of Cypress, TX; her nieces Jackie Burton and Kathleen Watson; her sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

A public visitation will be held at Sterling-White Funeral Home and Cemetery, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, TX 77562 from 12pm to 3pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. A private burial will follow in Sterling-White Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to in Donna's honor the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
