Doris D Askew

Doris Denelda Pardick Askew, 83, of Channelview, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. She was born on August 14, 1937 in Fallon, Nevada to Harry William Pardick and Mary Hannah Davies Pardick. Doris had retired twice from the Hacienda Casino and then the Sahara Casino. She then worked for many years and owned “My Place” game room. She enjoyed working outside in her yard, sewing, crocheting, and doing word search puzzles. Doris had a big heart that loved everyone; she was known for taking care of the neighborhood children. Doris was a kind and caring woman that will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Melvin Askew Sr.; parents, Harry and Mary Pardick; siblings, Jared Pardick, Sam Pardick, John Pardick, Harry Pardick Jr., James Pardick, and Mary Brown and also by her first born child Melvin Thomas Askew.

Doris is survived by her sister Lida Ayers; children, Mary Taylor and husband Terry, Charlie Askew and wife Carol, Donna Wisdom and husband Randal, Linda Fix and husband Dave, Thomas Melvin Askew Jr. and wife Kim, Jo Anne Askew, and Melvin “Tiger” Carson Askew and wife Mellanie; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and her dog Lucy.

Interment will be held at a later date in at Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, Texas 77562.
