Edwin Parrish Palmer Jr.

January 22, 1940 ~ December 23, 2021 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

Edwin Parrish Palmer Jr., known by his family as “Paw Paw”, stepped into glory on Friday, December 23, 2021 at the age of 81.  He now stands healed in the presence of his Heavenly Father.

Edwin was born to Parrish Palmer and Dorothy Palmer on January 22, 1940 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Edwin attended Nacogdoches High School and Texas A&M University.  After leaving Texas A&M, he went on to work in the Banking Industry in several Texas communities from New Waverly to Crosby, Texas.  He spent his entire 30+ year banking career building relationships with many clients all over the South East Texas area.

Edwin loved his family and the community he served as a banker during his lifetime. While working at New Waverly State bank, he also served as the New Waverly City Mayor for several years.  He enjoyed spending time with lifelong friends playing music and participating in community cookoffs.  Some of his most enjoyable moments were found at Lake Alazan fishing and just relaxing in his lake house.

He is survived by his son, Michael Palmer and daughter-in-law, Michela and their children, Massimo and Stefano of Southlake. One brother, Carroll Palmer and his sister Helen Oncken.  And a host of other family members and friends left to cherish his memory.

There will be a time of visitation with a memorial service to follow in the chapel at Sterling -White Funeral Home in Highlands on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m.
