Elinor Jean Cox

Elinor Jean Cox, 90, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021, in Pasadena, Texas. She was born on April 22, 1930, in Millersburg Indiana, to the late Althea Cobbum Green and Osborne Green. In her younger days while in Indiana she was of the episcopalian faith. She attended Millersburg High School.

Elinor was a person who pursued many interests, some of which included her love to read, and going bowling. In fact, she was an avid bowler and was incredibly good at it. She was also an amazing seamstress. There was not much that she could not repair. Elinor’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her precious family. She was the rock of the family, everyone looked to her for her wisdom. Elinor was a friendly person who never met a stranger. She could effortlessly carry on a conversation with anyone she had just met.

Elinor was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to many who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 12 years Monte A. Cox; her sons Stewart and Steven Hiner; her siblings Doyt Green, Clifford Green, Mary Davis, Sarah Bixler and Alice Eash. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her daughters Terri Rink and husband Jim of Baytown, Texas, Penny Hook of El Cajon, California; her six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
