Georgene Burnett

Georgene Burnett, 78, of Galena Park, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. She was born on January 24, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated in 1961 from Galena Park High School. On August 4, 1962 she married the love of her life, Freddy Ray Burnett. Georgene was a devout Christian woman and served for many years in the administrative offices of First Baptist Church of Galena Park and Woodforest Baptist Church. 

Georgene had a love that radiated for her family and was always willing to lend an ear when you just needed someone to listen. She was very talented and enjoyed painting, quilting, and sewing. Antique shopping was her true hobby and she had a great assortment of collectable items that she treasured. Georgene will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Leota Adams.

Georgene is survived by her husband, Freddy Burnett; children, Jerri Torres and husband Daniel, Curt Burnett and wife Teresa, and Carri Pedigo and husband Brian; grandchildren, Daniel Jr. Torres (Stacie), Lauren Turner (Michael), Tyler Torres (Elisha), Megan Horn (Ben), Trevin Torres (Jordan), Cassidy Mabry (Stephen), Caden Lebedzinski, Taylor Harris (Preston), Jordan Burnett, and Ethan Burnett; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Carson, Clayton, Amariah, Annaleigh, Zacharias, Ezra, Calum, Aubrey and Brecken; brother, John Adams and wife Peggy; sister, Jackie Mullinax and husband Ronnie; sister-in-law, Judy Burnett; and a host of extended family and friends.

Serving the family as Pallbearers will be DJ Torres, Tyler Torres, Trevin Torres, Caden Lebedzinski, Ethan Burnett and Sean Burnett and Jay Mullinax.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, January 14, 2022 at First Baptist Church Galena Park, 206 Woolfe St, Galena Park, Texas 77547. Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, January, 2022 at First Baptist Church Galena Park. Graveside services will follow in San Jacinto Memorial Park, 14659 East Fwy, Houston, Texas 77015. A reception will be held afterwards in the gymnasium of First Baptist Church Galena Park.
