Henry “Ricky” Martinez, born December 27, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas, on January 16, 2020, at the age of 63.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus with El Carmen Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas, until 2004 when he then moved to Houston, Texas, where he continued his obligation as a Knight for the Knights of Columbus. He loved spending his time volunteering at his church and enjoyed socializing with members of the community.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Lupe Fischer, Maria Gallegos, Manuel Martinez, Stella Tavares, Elizabeth Fraga, Joe Martinez, Felipe Martinez, Lydia Guerra, Irene Martinez, and Adelina Martinez; brother and Sister in laws; Willie Gallegos, Eddie Tavares, Connie Dominguez, Gloria Martinez, and Lucy Martinez; along with many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his mother, Paula Martinez; his father, Manual Martinez; brother-in-law, Fred Fischer; sister-in-law, Irene R. Martinez; and nephew, Peter Michael Guerra.
The funeral services will begin in Houston with a viewing on Tuesday, January 21st at Sterling White Funeral Home located at 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg, Highlands, Texas, 77562 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In San Antonio there will be a viewing and Rosary on Wednesday, January 22nd at Trevino Funeral Home located at 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78211. The viewing will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The burial will be on Thursday, January 23, 2020, with Mass at El Carmen Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. and burial at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Pleasanton, Texas. The cemetery is located off of 37, exit 536 and it is 2.3 miles east of Interstate 536 on the left.
