Tribute

Hermelinda “Linda” Castillo Samora was born in Baytown, Texas on July 19, 1957 to Juan Castillo, Sr. and Esperanza Leal. She was called home Thursday, July 8, 2021. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Juan “Johnny” Castillo, Jr., Alejandro “Alex” Castillo, Arnold “Moe” Castillo, Arturo “Art” Castillo and his wife Sylvia; brother-in-law, Victor Rocha; and nephew Eddy Castillo.

Linda was an outspoken lady with a heart of gold. She was also known to “tell it like it is”, but was always supportive. She had a soft spot for the elderly and had many life-long friends. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and spending time outside. Of her many passions in life, Linda especially loved being grandma to her grandchildren and great grand-dogs. She loved her nieces and nephews dearly and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Laurie Cervantes and husband Juan; grandchildren, Kimberly Rangel and husband T. Adrian, and Karys Cervantes; sister, Sylvia Rocha; great grand-dogs, Bella and Cookie, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
