Ira Webb Gigout, 86, passed from this life on Saturday, September 21, 2019. He was born in Crowley, Louisiana on January 31, 1933. His family moved to Texas when he was 4 years old.  He lived in Highlands the rest of his life. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Ira served two years in the Army, stationed in Japan. He retired from Shell Oil in Deer Park after 38 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Allie Gigout; brother, Andrew Gigout; sisters, Dorothy Gigout and Audrey Lambousy.

Ira is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bette Gigout; sons, Ricky, Rex and wife Joyce, Lynn and wife Donna; grandson Aaron and wife Mari; great grandsons Mario and Jason.  He is also survived by sister, Joyce.

The family would like to thank the staff, nurses, aides and residents at St. James House of Baytown for the loving care during his stay.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Sterling White Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in Sterling White Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, TX 77562.
