James Arthur Roberts Sr

January 12, 1933 ~ September 23, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

James Arthur Roberts Sr. 84 went to be with Jesus on Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born to a family of farmers on Thursday, January 12, 1933 in Red River County, Texas to Elmer John Green Roberts and Alice Roberts. He was also born into a large family of brothers and sisters who loved each other and worked together to run the farm during the years of the Depression.

James was a Korean War Veteran and after coming home from the war he married the love of his life Pat Theral on February 25, 1956 and spent 62 years together. He retired in 1998 after working as general superintendent for Faulkner Contractors building gas stations across the Houston area. He and Pat were blessed with a long happy retirement where their love grew deeper. He loved the outdoors hunting and fishing with friends, families and neighbors over the years and most of all he loved the lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first grandson, James Ryan Roberts who he dearly loved.

James is survived by his beloved wife Pat Roberts and their children: James Roberts Jr., Wayne Roberts (wife Donna), and James Nelson Roberts (wife Mona). Grandchildren: Megan Roberts, Michael Roberts, Sarah Roberts, Steve Roberts, Michael Roberts, and Rachel Roberts. He is also survived by brothers, sisters and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Shawn Johns, John Kelly, Dale Warren, John Cameron, Gary Cameron and Daniel Burris.

We all fill a sense of peace knowing Dad is in the outdoors of heaven fishing   with family and friends with Jesus now, but we will forever miss him. Have fun Dad and we look forward to joining you someday where the fish are always biting!
