James Edward Brownlee II

James Edward Brownlee, II, 61, of Galena Park, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019. He was born in Houston, Texas on January 25, 1958 to James Edward Brownlee and Maralene Vickers. James was a laid-back kind of guy who enjoyed teasing others and telling stories to his family about his children growing up. Throughout the years he coached softball and baseball for his children’s teams and for the little league teams even after they were grownups. James enjoyed fishing out on the lake and refinishing antique furniture. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Edward Brownlee.  

James is survived by his wife Debra Holton; daughters, Christy Brownlee and Katherine Thorton and husband Blaine; step-daughter, Delaney Knight and husband Brian Gerrish; mother, Maralene Brownlee; sister, Donna Brownlee; and grandchildren, Kayden Dees, Ava Thorton, Brilynn Thorton, and Kairi Gerrish.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Sterling White Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 3:00pm.
