Jarrod Kayne LaPlante

Jarrod Kayne LaPlante, 45, of Huffman, Texas, passed away from this life too soon on May 18th, 2022. He was born January 22nd, 1977, in Houston, Texas, to parents Rex LaPlante, III and Wanda Kaye Kidd.

He graduated from Hargrave High School in Huffman and played football. After high school, he worked in construction. He went on to become a skilled and meticulous renovator of homes and businesses. He learned this trade from life-long friend Chuck Cates.

He loved to cook, especially gumbo and grilling. He had a hidden passion for writing poetry. He enjoyed playing with his numerous nieces and nephews making them laugh and smile. Jarrod had may other interests including cars, rebuilding things, classical rock music, and playing his guitar. He was a very loving and kind-hearted soul and will be greatly missed.

Jarrod is preceded by his grandparents Clyde and Maudie Flowers and Rex LaPlante, II and wife Gloria.

Jarrod is survived by his daughter Macee, his grandchildren, his father Rex LaPlante, III and wife Gloria, his mother Wanda Kaye Kidd and husband James, his brothers Rex LaPlante, IV and wife Ana, Seth LaPlante and wife Tracy, Sean LaPlante and wife Melanie Anne, Devin LaPlante and wife Melanie, his sister, Addie LaPlante, and many other uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.

Services are in care of Sterling-White Funeral Home & Cemetery, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Road, Highlands, Texas, 77562. Visitation will be held Friday, June 3, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with chapel services following by Pastor Brandon Brewer from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Sterling-White Cemetery afterwards.
