Jerry Dean McDonald, 76 of Crosby, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
He was born on September 22, 1944, in Baytown, Texas to the late Dan C. McDonald and Gladys Ruth Beaty McDonald.
Jerry attended Crosby High School and on March 21, 1963, he married Alice Regina Barnhill. He lived a life of dedication to God, family, and friends.
He built a home for his family in Crosby. He retired from the Port of Houston as a diesel mechanic. His faith was a driving force in his life and in his actions. He was a member of Highlands Baptist Church for 37 years and served as a deacon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was well respected by every person that spent time with him. Jerry loved God, family, friends, and helping as much as he could whenever he could. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Melvin Clayton McDonald. He leaves behind his beloved wife Alice “Reggie” McDonald, brother John W. McDonald and wife Emma Jane, son Michael Dean McDonald and wife Terri Ann, daughter Gloria Christine McDonald Martin, granddaughters Amber Martin Carr, Stephanie McDonald McClain, greatgrandchildren Everlynn Carr, Nathan Ford, and Benjamin Ford. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021, at Rice Cemetery in Livingston, TX.
