Jimmy David Love

April 1, 1940 ~ September 30, 2021 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

Jimmy David Love passed away on September 30th, 2021 at his home in Highlands, Texas. He was born on April 1, 1940 and battled Leukemia for eleven years before passing away at 81 years old. He went off to the US Army at age 17 and served our country from 1957-1960. Jim was an avid fisherman, gardener, and could run any piece of heavy equipment he came across. He loved to take vacations with his wife and any casino owner knew he was in trouble when Jimmy Love walked in. He spent countless years running trotlines on the San Jacinto River while developing Love’s Marina and made many friends along the way. He spent most of his later life spoiling Edna and their dog Pappy. No day was complete without each of them having a glass of sweet tea and a cup of Blue Bell. He also loved to pass his knowledge down and spent many hours teaching his sons and granddaughters how to make and rig trotlines.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Lois Love; sons, Curtis & Kevin Griffin; grandchildren, Peter & Stacy Nunez, Kristin Griffin, and Hannah Griffin; and great-grandchildren, McKenzie & Carson. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Pappy. We would like to give special thanks to doctors Dallal Abdelsayed and Pamela Medellin for their years of exceptional care for Jim.

The memorial service will be at held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Sterling-White Funeral Home in Highlands, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project. Following the service there will be a reception held at Charlie's in Highlands.

We are at peace knowing that Jim has reunited with our Heavenly Father and no longer in any pain.
