Beloved mother, Joyce Nell Harolds passed away May 8, 2023 at the age of 78. She was born in Texas City, TX to Marvel and William Bradly on February 23, 1945. She is a native to the Gulf Coast area and has lived there most of her life. She served a full-time mission in Germany in her early twenties where she met her husband, Lloyd Harolds, who was serving in the army band during the Vietnam War. They married in the Salt Lake Temple September 16, 1968. They lived in New York, California, South Africa, and then settled in the Baytown and Texas City areas. Along with raising 6 children, she worked for many years as a nurse and medical coder.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Joyce leaves behind her sister, Peggy Sky-Eagle, her children Louis and Marie, Andrew and Melissa, William and Melissa, Charles and Gisselle, Paula, and Miriam and Jeremy. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout the years, her favorite of which was playing the piano for the primary. Her favorite childhood memory is lying on her grandfather’s lawn watching fireflies and, in her golden years, was known to be particularly adventurous on her sister Peggy’s ATV.
A viewing will be held Friday, May 12th at 10 AM at the Baytown Chapel located at
1010 Birdsong Dr. Baytown, TX 77522. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM.
