Judy Lynn Chauncey – age 72 of Crosby, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at her residence.
Judy, the daughter of the late Lindy and Berthelle Dees, was born October 5, 1947 in Houston, Texas. She is a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Crosby for the past 15 years. Judy attended Furr High School; during high school, she met and married the love of her life, Billy Chauncey. Judy was the owner and operator of Judy’s Florist and Gifts for over twenty years and went on to work for Randall’s as Floral Manager in their floral department. Judy was an outstanding cook and enjoyed hosting large gatherings and parties. Judy enjoyed telling stories, jokes, and was the life of any party. She also enjoyed music and dancing. After retirement, and upon moving to Crosby, she was known to her friends and neighbors as the Catfish Queen of Lake Houston for her exceptional fishing skills.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-three years, Billy Joe Chauncey, sons: Billy Shawn Chauncey, Shannon Joe Chauncey, and Brandon Shane Chauncey and wife Stephanie, brothers: Gary Dees and Ronnie Dees, grandchildren: Elaina Chauncey, Emily Chauncey, Elissa Chauncey, Kaleb Chauncey, Billy S. Chauncey Jr., Jeffrey Chauncey, and Patrick Gonzalez, as well as five great-grandchildren.
Judy will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation for Judy will be held Monday, November 18, 2019 from 5-8PM at Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, Texas 77562. Funeral services to be held 2PM Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Sterling White Cemetery.
