Julia G Martinez

Julia Garza Martinez, 77, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2019. She was born on July 4, 1942 in Baytown, Texas to Raymond Saenz Garza and Ventura Tobias Garza. She was a loving, kind, thoughtful, generous and forgiving soul. Julia was a homemaker who took care of everyone and treated everyone as her own.  She was strong in her religious beliefs, and her faith never wavered.  She prayed for her family every night and uplifted others.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, doing word searches, watching the Astros, watching football and movie nights with her husband and son-in-law, George.  Julia was a wonderful cook, her specialty was her tortillas.  She will be dearly missed by all her knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ventura Garza; sister Gloria Torres; brother, Robert Garza and brother, Ronald Garza.

Julia is survived by her husband of 51 years, Pedro J. Martinez; daughter, Julie A. Villarreal and husband George; son, Pete A. Martinez and wife Gabriel; daughter, Patricia R. Postoak and husband Brandon; grandchildren, Sarah, Abigail, Hannah, Joshua, Bailey and Jace; sister, Lucille Saldaña and brother, Raymond Garza Jr. and wife Yvonne.

Honoring the family serving as pallbearers are Oneal Norris, David Yepez, Joshua Martinez, Felix Torres Jr., Ron Garza Jr., Robbie Saldaña and Anthony Juarez Sr.  Honorary pallbearers will be Sarah Villarreal, Abigail Villarreal, Hannah Hernandez Martinez, Angel Mejia, Jace Postoak and Bailey Postoak.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home with a recitation of a rosary at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 10:00am at St. John’s Catholic Church in Baytown, Texas. Interment to follow in Sterling-White Cemetery.
