Katherine Jean Gentry

Katherine “Kathy” Jean Gentry, 66, of Highlands, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019. She was born on June 11, 1953 in Jackson, Michigan to Erval Hobart, Sr. and Nancy Booth Hobart. She was feisty and full of life.  Kathy never met a stranger and mothered everyone.  She was very giving and forgiving, with a heart of gold. Gam-Gam loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Erval; her mother, Nancy "Burkie"; brother, Rick Hobart and sister, Debbie Howell.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-nine years, Paul Gentry; daughter Rabecka Bourdeaux; son, Daniel Bourdeaux, Jr. and wife Tasha; step-daughter Lisa Jimenez and husband Jim; step-daughter, Chandra Forman; brother, Nate Hobart, Jr.; brother, Greg Hobart; brother, Jeff Hobart and wife Kathy; sister, Brenda Kaiser and husband Al; sister, Connie Miller and husband Kenny; brother, Tony Hobart and wife Wendy; her best friends, that are like sisters, Sherri Gresham and Patty Sicley and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Sterling White Funeral Home. A Celebration of Kathy’s Life will follow at 11:00am.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, Texas 77562. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
