Kurt Ray Sump

Kurt Ray Sump, age 56, of La Porte, Texas passed away Tuesday April 10th 2018 surrounded by his family. Kurt was born in Houston, Texas on September 3, 1961 to John and Jacqueline Sump. He graduated from South Houston High School in 1980. On April 23rd, 1988 Kurt married Leslie Lovell in Deer Park, Texas and together they had two children, Christine and Gregory. Kurt enjoyed bowling with Leslie and playing golf with his daughter Christine and his 3 older brothers. He also shared his love of watching professional wrestling with Gregory.

Kurt is survived by his wife of 29 years Leslie; children Christine and Gregory; brothers Darrell, Kenneth and Dennis; many brothers and sisters in law; cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Jackie, his son John Phillip, his father in law Max Lovell, and his brothers in law Danny Lovell and Lynn Boring.

Family, friends and others whose lives Kurt touched are invited to join us at the Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, TX 77562, on Saturday April 14th from 1-4pm. The family will greet friends from 1-3pm and the memorial service will begin at 3pm. Interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
