Lena Merle “Nana” Brent, 83, of Crosby, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021, at her residence. She was born on October 5, 1937, in Bedias, Texas, to the late Thomas Jefferson Russell and Olie Helen Buckalew.
Lena was a person who pursed many interests, some of which included making chocolate pies, crocheting and fishing. In fact, she held a class and taught all of her grandchildren and other children in the community how to crochet. Lena was also known for always having a fire burning in the fireplace. Many would say that Lena had the biggest heart in the world. She would do anything for anyone in need if she could. Lena’s family was her pride and joy. She loved each and every one of her grandchildren, and was a proud Nana to all of them.
Lena was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to many who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry Russell and her sister Betty Jo Corley. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her beloved children Martha Clemons and husband Ronny of Crosby, Texas, Peggy Davis and husband Larry Smith of The Heights, Texas, Linda K. Davis and husband Pat McIntyre of Crosby, Texas, her 10 grandchildren; her 16 great-grandchildren; her 3 great-great-grandchildren; countless nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
