Leslie Ann Barker

Leslie Ann Thomas Barker, 61, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in Teague, Texas. She was born in Baytown, Texas on January 22, 1958 to Tommy Lee Thomas and Marilyn Eta Moore Thomas. Leslie was a true strong southern woman; very polite with her words but could also let you know what her opinion was on matters. She enjoyed going to any beach with her husband, Dennis, just as long as she could smell the salt in the air and hear the waves crash. Leslie enjoyed many things from being a hunter who was great in archery, to gardening and planting anything you could stick in the ground. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Neal Barker; mother, Marilyn Eta Moore; mother-in-law, Nita Barker; and father-in-law, Claude Neal Barker.

Leslie is survived by her children, Mistie Broussard (husband, Jerrod) and Dennis Barker (wife, Michelle); father, Tommy Thomas; grandchildren, Stephen Summersill (wife, Olivia), Todd Summersill (fiancé, Caitlyn Jones), Trey Simpson, Austin Flinn, Caden Broussard, and Alyssa Barker; great-grandson, Flint Summersill; brother, Terry Thomas (wife, Beverley); sister, Janet Blair; and too many nieces, nephews and friends to count.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Sterling White Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019, also at Sterling White Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
