Lester Edwin Hank, of Crosby, Texas, was born on October 7, 1932 in Lockport, Illinois to
Gertrude “Grace” Hank and Edwin Frank Hank. He met the love of his life, Dorothy “Marlene”
Jones, at a local eatery that she worked at in 1951 and they were married on December 4,
1954.Together they had 3 children, Gary Hank, Larry Hank and Bonnie Hank-­‐Butler.
Dependable. That is the word that describes Lester to a T. He loved taking care of his family and
lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He served in the Korean War between 1953 and
1954. Lester also spent many years in the trucking industry and later worked at Norman Smith
Equipment Co in Houston, Texas where he developed many lifelong friendships along the way.
When not working, you could find Lester studying new jokes to tell, spending time with his dog,
Mandy, and cat, Topper, and playing dominoes with his family.
Lester is preceded in death by his son, Gary Hank; father, Edwin Frank Hank; mother, Gertrude
“Grace” Hank; sister, Mildred Hank; sister, Gladys Wilder; sister, Betty Holm; sister, Grace
Jones; brother, James Hank, Sr.
Lester is survived by wife, Dorothy Marlene Hank; son, Larry Hank and wife, Elizabeth Hank;
daughter, Bonnie Hank-­‐Butler and husband Tim Welsh; grandchildren, Scott Hank, Marcie
McMicken, Tonya Anaya, Christina Hank, Danielle Patterson, Gina Butler and numerous great-­‐
grandchildren.
