Lita Mae Puryear Herron, 83, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at her home in Crosby, Texas. She was born September 30, 1937, in Huntington, Texas to C.O. and Viola Puryear.
Lita was a fun-loving, bright, sometimes feisty woman that cared deeply for her family, both blood and the many she chose. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She retired from Southwestern Bell after over 20 years as a customer service representative. Lita enjoyed sewing, baking, and caring for her chickens. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and helping to care for her many grandchildren. She had a wonderful smile and a memorable laugh. Lita will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Lita is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Homer D. Herron, her parents C.O. and Viola Puryear, and 7 cherished siblings.
She is survived by her daughters; Sam Comeaux and Husband Chad, and Mary Parker; grandchildren, Anna LaFleur, Krishna Keller and husband Lane, Russell “JR” Rankin, Mary Rankin, Deja “D’D” Comeaux Long and husband John, Shane Comeaux, Makayla “KK” Comeaux, Ethan Hart, and Jacob Bullock; great-grandchild, Dylan Clevenger; brothers, Gene Puryear and wife Rose, and Robert Puryear and wife Susan and a host of extended family and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00pm – 8:00pm on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 18, 2021 also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Sterling White Cemetery.
