Lolita Gavin, 77, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 27, 2019. She was born April 30, 1942 in Manilla, Philippines to her parents, Red and Virginia Eccles. Lolita was married to William Gavin, for 31 years and together they raised 5 daughters. She worked for many years at Walmart in Crosby. Her interests included family, gardening, sewing, crocheting, raising cockatiel birds, bird watching, and being outside in nature. She had an awesome green-thumb and could make anything grow. Lolita had the best sense of humor, big smile, and infectious laugh that will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, William Gavin; and her parents Red and Virginia Eccles.
Lolita is survived by her daughters, Carol Anderson, Cindy Glaze Brooks and husband John, Connie Gavin, Carmen Mills and husband John, and Christy Hughes and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Ashley Meyka, Michelle Mills Long and husband Mark, Jacob Mills, Zachery Glaze, and Andrea LeGros; greatgrandchildren, Elissa Goodwin, Mark Long Jr., Even Long, and Aaron Long.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 9:00am-11:00am at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am. Interment will follow at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, in Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
