Louis S. Thorne

Louis Shirrell “Paw Paw” Thorne, 80, of Huffman, Texas passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, in Houston, Texas. He was born on July 14, 1940 in Houston, Texas to the late Delbert and Pauline Thorne. Shirrell attended Milby High School and in 1957 married the love of his life Ann Thorne. He worked for Charter Oil refinery for over 20 years. 

Shirrell was one of a kind; he loved his family with every inch of his soul. He viewed his grandchildren, as his Precious Treasures. He was thoughtful and the most self-less person you would have ever had the pleasure to know. Shirrell enjoyed hunting, fishing, or sitting back watching his favorite baseball team, the Astros. If you first meet Shirrell, you would have thought that you had known him all of your life, he never meet a stranger. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him. This caring soul, who put others before him, we will surely miss. 

Shirrell leaves behind to cherish his loving memories, his wife of 61 years Ann Thorne, his son Darrell Thorne and wife Trisha, his brother and sisters Jerry Thorne, Jean Kirk, Naomi Daniels, Cecelia Thorne, Caroline Roach, and Pam Ingram. His grandchildren Colton Moore, Kaylee Moore, Kade Thorne, Cody Thorne, and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two daughters Melinda Moore and Beverly Thorne. 

Honoring the family as pallbearers are Robert Boaz, Jay Davis, Jim Wright, Ricky Johnson, Darrin Johnson, and Kyle Walker. Honorary Pallbearers: Mark Lowe and Chad Johnson.
