Malcolm Jefferson Gillis Jr.

Malcolm Jefferson Gillis, Jr. age 87, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 18, 2018. He was born in Neshoba County, Mississippi on June 5, 1930 to Emma Francis Bates Gillis and Malcolm Jefferson Gillis, Sr. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, reading, and working out at the YMCA, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was a very generous, dependable, hardworking person who always had a positive attitude and a great sense of humor. He was a free-spirited person who could have been considered strong willed at times, and will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Gillis; his sisters and brother, Billie Fuggitt, Etta Smiley and Joe Gillis and son, Russell Rodgers. 

Malcolm is survived by his children, Sharon Webb (and husband, Everett), Virginia Brown, Joyce Cochran and Frank Rodgers; his grandchildren, Matthew Jefferson Webb (and wife, Danielle), Jason Everett Webb (and wife, Ashley) and Monica Rene Webb; his great-grand daughters, McKenzie Rae Webb and Addilyn Faith Webb; his sisters and brothers, Bobbie Poston, Corin Gibbs, Davis Gillis and Guy Gillis. Also survived by other relatives and many friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Harvest Time Church of God 495 S. Diamondhead Blvd. in Crosby, Texas on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. followed by Services in the church.  Private interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
