Maribel Burk

Maribel Ayarzagoitia went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2022, at 35. Maribel was born in Houston, TX, on April 28, 1986. She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Guillermo and Rosalinda Ayarzagoitia, her daughter Elena Cerpas, and her brother Guillermo Ayarzagoitia Jr. 

Maribel’s passion was dance. At 3, she began with the Ambassadors International Ballet Folklorico in Houston, Texas. She exhibited such talent that she began teaching younger children in the dance company at the age of 13. Maribel was then crowned Reina of Las Fiesta Patrias at 17. She graduated from Huffman High School in 2004. Maribel’s love for Latin culture and tradition after school led her to continue teaching, as she even attended extensive courses in Ballet Folklorico by Amalia Hernandez. 

Maribel’s greatest love was her daughter Elena. She dedicated her time to attending and supporting Elena’s passion for gymnastics. She attended every training and competition. Maribel enjoyed helping her daughter in basketball, cheer, and track when Elena wanted to explore other athletics. Maribel often told her friends and family that Elena was her greatest achievement and gift in life. 

Friends are invited to visit the family from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Sterling White Funeral Home. A celebration of Maribel's life will begin at 7:00pm.
