Tribute

Mark David Houle, age 64, of Huffman, Texas, was ushered into the arms of the Lord, May 30, 2021. Mark was born August 11, 1956 in Gary, Indiana, to James Houle and Brenda Brodien. He was preceded in death by his mother Brenda Brodien; father James Houle; sister Belinda Houle; sister Mary Lipe, & brother-in-law Barry Jordan. Mark is survived by his wife Connie-married 43 years; mother-in-law Sandy Oliver (aka “Hey You”); Sisters: Debbie Hritz (Andy), Lori Alicea (David), Denise Ebert (Brad); Sister-in-Law: Cindy Ruddach (Rick); Brother-in-Law: Lonnie Jordan Sr. (Kim), Nieces: Christina DeCoux (Justin), Brittany Harris (Mitchell), Amanda Jordan, Amy Jordan, Amanda Mayfield (Jordan), Amy Walker (Gilbert), Candace Cumbee (Kyle), Ginger Osborn; Nephews: Michael Oakley, Jacob England (Crystal), Phillip Hritz, Lonnie Jordan Jr. (Torrie), Guy Osborn (Jamie), Josh Osborn; and 23 great nieces and nephews.

Mark began as an entrepreneur in roofing, but then transitioned into the trucking industry hauling chemicals for 30+ years. Mark was a leader in his profession by training employees to instill safe work ethics to provide protection for his fellow co-workers and community, resulting in numerous safety awards.

One of his passions was watching and attending National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) in Baytown, TX with his paparazzi, Connie. He was an all-time fan demonstrated by his numerous photos with autographs by famous drivers. Mark even had the privilege of racing a Top Fuel Car. He also enjoyed NASCAR and looked forward to the Indy 500 every year. Fortuitously, Mark passed away the day of the Indy 500 race of 2021.

A loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.

2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Honoring the family by serving as Pallbearers will be Justin Decoux, Mitchell Snow, Lonnie Jordan Jr., Josh Osburn, Guy Osborn, and Jay Block.

Funeral Services will be held at Sterling White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Road, Highlands, TX 77562 on Saturday 6/5/2021 at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Honor of Mark.
