Mattie Leona Lightfoot

Mattie Leona Lightfoot age 93, went to be with the Lord on Monday December 3, 2018. She was born in Santa Anna Texas on July 25, 1925 to Margaret Eveline Davis McCain and Walter F. McCain. Leona married Raymond H. Lightfoot on March 5, 1941. They lived in several cities and towns in Texas and California while Raymond was in the Coast Guard during WWII. They finally settled in Highlands, Texas in 1967. Leona was widowed on August 2, 1992 after 51 years of Sacred Marriage. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Highlands for 48 years and the Church Nursery Coordinator for nearly 30 years. She was very active in her church and enjoyed delivering meals to shut-ins. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren. She was a very spiritual person who loved God, her church and her family and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Leona is survived by her children, Robert Lightfoot (and wife, Denise), Margaret Graham, Billie Stuard (and husband, Larry), Perry Lightfoot (and wife, Joyce) and Gerald Lightfoot (and wife, Julia). Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, on Monday evening December 10, 2018  from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held in Sterling white Funeral Home on Tuesday morning December 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
